Book Talk and Reading : 1st February, 2025 @ 4.30 pm @ Nehru Centre Mumbai.

Too dark, too fair, too skinny, too big, too much hair, too little hair, - today’s teenagers deal with endless body–image issues. With access to many universes at the tip of their devices, they are constantly bombarded with beauty standards that are portrayed as ‘normal’. But the human body is a thing of beauty and wonder that works hard for us. And regardless of how we look, its who we are that matters.

Sixteen wonderful writers come together in the powerful anthology ‘Hug Yourself: Body Positivity and Empowerment Stories for Teenagers’ to share narratives that explore multiple themes on body positivity with the hope of helping empower teenagers navigate their modern worlds.

As Mallika Dua, a digital creator, comedian and actor states, “Hug Yourself is an intervention – a gentle, friendly and loving shout out to yourself just for being, not for looking or doing. This wonderful bouquet of vulnerabilities and victories is that cool older sibling/ mentor/ imaginary friend that hears you out sans judgement as you come of age.”

Do join us with Vinitha, six other authors of the anthology and Ms. Swagata Mody, a mental health therapist who will co-host the conversation on this journey of self–discovery on 1st February 2025 at 4.30 pm.

Tea will be served at 4.00 pm sharp.
