Nehru Centre is pleased to invite you
to a discussion on a newly released book ‘The
Sherpa Trail: Stories from Darjeeling and Beyond’ written by Nandini Purandare
and Deepa Balsavar. It is an exceptional story of the climbing Sherpas of
Darjeeling and makes for an interesting read. The authors will share their
experiences on writing the book with the help of a slide presentation followed
by a short book reading.
At the end of the programme, the
books on sale will be signed by the authors.

Ms. Deepa Balsavar was discussed on 22nd August 2024 at Nehru Centre.
Thank you to them for presenting a comprehensive picture of Sherpa history,
culture, life and work on the mountains – their tales and travails.
It was a wonderful evening with the
never-ending conversations of our interactive and inquisitive participants on
such an interesting topic.
