Book Discussion : Being Human in a War Zone
When
countries engage in warfare, it is the common man who suffers the most by a
lack of essential supplies, being displaced from homes, losing loved ones and
the mental trauma of facing a war. War does bring a destruction and agony one
can only think about.
In
‘Being Human in a War Zone’ readers
experience varied mental and physical landscapes as protagonists grapple with
complex life situations in ways that express their unique humanity.
One
day in the life of an ordinary citizen in cultures as diverse as Afghanistan
and America, Ukraine and Sudan, Syria and Tibet, are explored in fourteen
stories.
Penned
by Meher Pestonji, a veteran journalist, writer and poet, the book will be
discussed at Nehru Centre, Worli. Pestonji has published short stories, novels
and also scripted plays. She will be in conversation with Quasar Thakore
Padamsee, a “theatre-holic”.
