Mumbai Metro Aqua Line: A Time Traveller’s Guide.
The Mumbai Metro Aqua Line is a fully underground 33.5
kilometres rapid transit corridor connecting Cuffe Parade in South Mumbai to
Aarey Colony featuring 27 stations. The
line is fully operational and it provides crucial connectivity to the airport,
CSMT and business districts like the Bandra-Kurla Complex.
Mumbai Metro Aqua Line: A Time Travellers’ Guide is written for all the commuters to
discover the history of Mumbai while riding the Aqua Line. The book is divided into eight stories about
Mumbai, starting from the 3rd century BCE up until 2025. The stories
are given distinctive titles like rock - cut city, fishing city,
fortified city, imperial city and so on. Each story is reflected in a bunch
of different sites like buildings, memorials, landmarks, statues that are
situated near the stations. The book is a wonderful guide for all travel buffs,
history enthusiasts and Mumbaikars who want to explore these places, learn
about the lesser- known spots and contemporary histories. In the Maharashtra
Budget, our CM has announced a new Metro line from Wadala to Gateway of India
adding to the historical heritage of the city.
