Nehru Centre cordially invites you to a book talk and discussion
on ‘Choices: Inside the Making of India’s Foreign Policy ' written by
diplomat Shivshankar Menon. In the book, the
author gives a comprehensive narration of 5 occasions where he was
intricately involved in shaping India's responses. These include the decision
not to use overt military force against Pakistan after 26/11, the civil nuclear
deal with the United States; the border agreement with China; the response to
the last months of Sri Lanka’s brutal civil war and the thinking that underlay
India’s No First Use nuclear policy.
SPEAKER
The speaker Meena Menon is an independent journalist, author and
former deputy editor of The Hindu. Ms Menon will speak about how the author has wonderfully articulated India's
diplomatic choices and given the reader a ringside view of major international
events and policies that have shaped India's strategic choices in the global
stage.
DISCUSSANTS
Mr. Anurag Anand is working on the research team for prime time
shows like The Urban Debate, Last Word & Nation Now for the Mirror Now
television channel.
Mr. Aditya Hazarika is also working for the Mirror Now television
