Subject : writing this letter regarding my experience at NCL, Worli, Mumbai.

Hi, my name is Lakhansing Sorte. I reside in Ghatkopar a suburb of Mumbai. Currently I am awaiting my T.Y.B.Sc (Physics)  results. I am a student of the K.J.Somaiya College Of Sci & Comm., Vidyavihar. Till such time as my results are announced, I am investing my leisure time in my favorite hobby which is reading. I have been reading fiction and nonfiction - novels, magazines, newspapers and many more things since my school days. And my parents have always been supportive of my love for reading. In future too, I will read as much as possible and motivate others to do so. In  this piece, I want to share my experience of reading at the Nehru Centre Library,
While writing this, I still cant believe that I am writing to the librarian of the prestigious Nehru Centre Library, Worli, Mumbai. As this is my first time to write to such a big organization which is well known amongst readers and students, I will try to express my thoughts in appropriate words.
As an avid reader since my childhood, Ive been always reading different types of books. In my search for good reading places, I have spent the past few years exploring various libraries in Mumbai to quench my unrelenting thirst for reading. But everywhere, I was disappointed either by bad service or a not-happy-to-help attitude. Poor Infrastructure, uncleanliness and not updated catalogue are also some factors that failed to attract me as a reader. Even if a reader is willing to pay a fair amount of money for reading, still these libraries put many limitations which readers find difficult to follow in their busy and hectic life. So I found it very difficult to find a relevant place to read.
In the month of June this year, after my final B.Sc exams, I was roaming around some places of Mumbai to spend my leisure time. One day I visited Nehru Planetarium in Worli and fortunately I came up to this very beautiful place called the Nehru Centre Library. Since the day I started visiting there, Ive been experiencing never-seen-before co-operation and help from all the staff of NCL. They introduced me to the  library and guided me on using the library services very politely. I got my first book easily through the online catalogue, and it was "Eyewitness to Civil war" by Neil Kagan. And then onwards Ive read a total of seven books in one month.
After I finished reading the first book, I enjoyed reading some Marathi books too like Kraunchwadh and Rikama Devhara  by V.S.Khandekar,  Batatyachi Chal and Vyakti Ani Valli by P.L.Deshpande, and a very Inspiring and Informative book Dream With Your Eyes Open by none other than the famous movie producer Ronnie Screwvala. The last and best book that I read was Men Of Steel By Vir Sanghvi.
I want to talk a bit about NCL, my favourite library. Its infrastructure is so perfect that you can sit at any corner of the library and you will have enough light by LED bulbs and as well as sunlight so you can read your favorite book without any distraction. Its cooled very pleasantly and cleaned very neatly providing a very good environment. The library is decorated very precisely with artificial trees and beautiful flowers which increase the beauty of the interiors of the library. Each and everything is managed very accurately so that the reader gets his desired book easily and can read it in intense silence. The library has a varied collection of books and many journals. If you look at quantity, they have more than 25000 books and journals. The library also has a magazine section with a variety of magazines on different subjects, and they have a special section for kids too. Every month they organize  activities for readers and kids. The library selects the best reader every month on the basis of his/her number of visits to the library and the books that he has read in the month. The  Reader Of The Months name and photo are then displayed on the library notice board. And I am so happy to get selected as the same for the month of June this year. There are many facilities in this library which readers can only experience when they visit it.
I would like to recommend this library to readers who are in search of a place like this. You should visit this place once and you will get to know what I am talking about. Every staff member of this library is willing to help with a smile on their face. This place is one of the best libraries in Mumbai or may be in  India. And I feel that our government should do something to make more such libraries in other cities for readers to make reading a great experience.
To write this blog, Head Of NCL, Mrs. Arati Desai and Mr. Pradeep Huvale motivated me. And I am so grateful to them for giving me this opportunity to express my thoughts. I will regularly visit this library in future and improve my treasure of knowledge. Thank you so much Nehru Centre Library and its staff.
